Activated Carbon Deodorization Unit

An activated carbon deodorization unit is used for low-concentration odor and suitable organic vapor polishing where the exhaust is relatively clean, cool and dry. It is a simple adsorption device for workshops that need odor reduction rather than high-load solvent destruction.

Best-Fit Applications

ApplicationTypical Odor SourceWhy Carbon Fits
Wastewater station odor polishingLow-concentration odor after wet pretreatmentCarbon can polish residual odor when humidity and mist are controlled.
Packaging or storage ventilationTrace organic odorSimple structure and easy replacement suit intermittent operation.
Small paint or adhesive roomLow solvent odor after dry filtrationWorks only when paint mist and sticky particles are removed first.
Laboratory or light chemical exhaustLow concentration odorRequires chemical compatibility review before selection.

Important Limits

Activated carbon deodorization is not suitable for heavy dust, oil mist, paint mist, high humidity, high temperature or high-concentration solvent exhaust without pretreatment. If the carbon bed saturates quickly, RCO, RTO, wet scrubbing or a combined process may be more economical.

System Configuration

A typical system includes collection hood, ductwork, pre-filter or demister, activated carbon box, fan and exhaust stack. For odor from wastewater or chemical rooms, a spray tower may be installed before carbon to remove soluble gases and protect the carbon bed.

Selection Parameters

ParameterWhat to ConfirmDesign Impact
AirflowTotal exhaust volume and operating hoursDetermines box size and carbon volume.
Odor compositionSolvent, sulfur, ammonia, organic odor or mixed gasDetermines whether carbon is suitable and what pretreatment is needed.
Humidity and mistWater vapor, oil mist, paint mist or dropletsHigh moisture and mist reduce carbon effectiveness.
Replacement planCarbon access, disposal and monitoringPrevents breakthrough and odor complaints.

Quotation Data to Prepare

Send airflow, odor source, gas composition if known, temperature, humidity, dust or mist condition, operating hours, installation space, emission or odor target, voltage and destination country.
